"In May 1993, my wife and I purchased Solar Screens from Lone Star Solar ScreensT for our new home in DeSoto, Texas. At the time of purchase, we were advised that the screen material carried a lifetime warranty. In April 1994 a tornado struck the towns of DeSoto and Lancaster. During the height of the tornado, the storm literally sucked two of the solar screens from the front of our house. One was found beside our home with some minor damage to the framework. The other screen was found two streets behind our home and two houses west of our location, indicating that the screen had been carried in the whirlwind motion of the storm. That screen suffered an obvious high degree of twisting as evidenced by the fact that all four sides of the framework had been twisted and broken. The fact I found most significant was that although the framework had been totally destroyed, the screen fabric material was completely intact without even so much as a rip or tear. When I contacted Jim at Lone Star, my initial question was, how much will it cost me to have the two screens reframed? His response, to my surprise, was, "I'll take care of it." I fully realized that the intended purpose of the lifetime warranty applies to defects in material not certainly to the destruction caused by a tornado. His response clearly indicates the degree of importance placed upon customer satisfaction by both Jim and Lone Star Solar ScreensT. My wife and I agree that the purchase of the solar screens for our home was one of, if not the only purchase we made on items for our new home that the benefits and workmanship of the product were actually equitable to the cost."
